Oranmore Lodge Hotel Conference and Leisure Centre

A proper hotel as far as I am concerned. Maybe be a bit old fashioned but the hotel was welcoming, clean, and the decor with solid furniture and fittings not some modern hotels with up to date furnishings do not look as good! My room was absolutely spotless and was five star as far as I am concerned. The breakfast was five star as well. Must mention the hotel staff who were very friendly and accommodating! Stayed down here for a night during race week. Nicely situated. They’ve got a leisure centre and a lovely bar inside with plenty on offer, Guinness and the zero, Coors, Carlsberg & plenty of gins and whiskeys. The room was spacious and spotless. We went for breakfast in the morning and I’ve posted what was offer ln the day. I decided against the special and went for the full Irish.

Hotel is located in a quiet location and features a fairly decent leisure facility. However If you are looking for spa days this is not the place. Our room decor was nice however cobwebs had not been cleaned away. The bathroom lacked hand-wash and the skirting boards were filthy. While the menu does not change, the food here was good. Unfortunately during our stay the hotel was having some construction work carried out. Something we were not made aware of from booking to arrival. The weather was warm, no air conditioning and windows could not be opened due to the noise from said construction work. This hotel is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues or wheelchair users. On departure my car which was parked in the disabled bay was blocked in by heavy Construction machinery. While the hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful the manager was quite grumpy and dismissive. Such a shame as the location is perfect.
