What was our dream wedding at this beautiful location has left a sour aftertaste; Getting our deposit back in full is something I have been working on since June 2024 (our stay). During our stay a window in a door was broken, something that I immediately reported during our stay. After much negotiation, we received part of our deposit back, with the message that we would get the rest back as soon as the cost of a new window would be known. Now, 5 months later, I still have not received the remainder of our deposit nor insight into the costs of repairing the window. The contact person does not/barely respond and has indicated that we must be patient. I'm afraid the money has been lost and we'll have to take legal action.
My girlfriend and I celebrated our birthday here. Unfortunately, we booked without signing a contract and paid a deposit via PayPal, and were ripped off. The house itself was beautiful, as described and visible in the photos. The interior was clearly dated, and the entire house wasn't particularly clean (the kitchen was definitely a disaster). Nevertheless, we had a good party because we were well-organized. Until, unfortunately, our deposit was withheld due to a broken Ikea mirror (which was probably 20 years old and worth €10), which we reported immediately upon arrival. We were accused of breaking the dishwasher, which was also quite the opposite: we had to fix it because it was already broken upon arrival. Then we were accused of littering, etc. All in all, just reasons to get €600 in cash after apparently paying more than €3,000 in rent for three days wasn't enough. Aside from the fact that both the owner and her friend, who "collected" the deposit, were incredibly unfriendly, we're now forced to take legal action. So, be careful when booking your vacation home; don't pay any deposits without signatures (because PayPal buyer protection doesn't cover this either!). Otherwise, the owners will happily enrich themselves. :)
Villa Son Perot is truly beautiful, but unfortunately, we had major problems with the landlady, which had a very negative impact on our stay. The very day after checking in, a woman came to collect the deposit and suddenly demanded cash. Since we didn't have much cash with us, we immediately offered to pay via PayPal. Despite this, she remained unfriendly and dismissive. After receiving the money, she promised to return it upon checkout. Now, three weeks after our departure, we still haven't received the deposit back. The reason: A small Ikea mirror worth €15, which we wanted to replace immediately, was used as an excuse to demand another €100 from us, even though the deposit was retained. Our WhatsApp messages were no longer responded to, and we felt like we were being kept. Other minor issues also marred the impression: The staff, who live nearby, came into the house several times without asking to rearrange things and then suddenly appeared in our garden or dining room. Furthermore, the toilet paper ran out on the first day, and there was no replacement in the house. Since the villa is very remote, it takes a long time to reach the nearest grocery store. I was initially very pleasantly surprised by the villa, but the unreliable and unfriendly behavior of the landlady completely ruined this impression. It's a real shame!
