Oriental Riverside Hotel Shanghai

A lovely place to stay, rooms were clean, modern, and very well soundproofed, the staff were very pleasant and helpful despite the language barrier! Will definitely stay here again when I return to Shanghai.

Absolutely the nicest hotel , fantastic location, boat rides up the canal just outside your door . The views are breathtakingly spectacular.

This was a horrible experience and the reason for that is very very good. The location was amazing, the rooms OK, but the SERVICE was dreadful. If you had a dirty shirt, you had to pay 150 YUAN (Which is 20 US Dollars)! Another case is if you had extreme pain somewhere, couldn't stand up or you were disabled, you needed 1000 YUAN (Which is 150 US Dollars) just for 30 mins on a wheelchair. I still can't believe that in EMERGENCY SERVICES, when your own customer cannot stand up or leave the hotel room, YOU CHARGE THEM 150 DOLLARS!!!!!! They also didn't call a taxi to the hospital nor hospital service even no one among us didn't have a Chinese phone number. It's just unbelievable and we finally convinced them after an hour of arguing. There was also a time when I was dead thirsty and I could just collapse any second. We asked the reception via phone and GUESS WHAT? They forgot about the water. Absolutely terrible service in here. I would like to come back to Shanghai, but not this hotel. I'm not really trying to be dramatic here, because I had an appendix stone and I really hope this hotel understands my feedback
