Original Sokos Hotel Ilves

The hotel has clearly been renovated somewhat recently, so the rooms feel very modern and fresh. The location is perfect for exploring Tampere. The staff were warm and welcoming, and flexible with our weird arrived time. The breakfast was also great. Being in Tampere, I was hoping there would be black sausage / black pudding at breakfast and there was, yay! My only complaint is that I only got to spend a few hours here to sleep and eat. But my experience was so positive that I think I'll be planning a weekend trip to Tampere in the near future just so I can spend more time here (and to try the pool!)

We had super good experience in this lovely hotel. Location is just perfect. The view from the room is really beautiful (towards the river and the bridge) and the brakefast was great. Highly recommend

In the rooms, it is impossible to open windows or turn off air conditioning or at least lower the temperature. We tried in three rooms, the employee whom we asked for help also didn’t manage to do it. There is a tall step between the room and the bathroom. There are telephones in the rooms, but you can't call between the rooms. We received this information from the staff when we asked how to do it. The pool and sauna are only open a few hours. There was no fruit tea at breakfasts, only black and sometimes green. You can't walk stairs; After opening the door to the stairs, the alarm turns on. The hotel is not suitable for people who for various reasons don’t want or can’t ride the elevator. It is also inaccessible to the blind. There are no Braille markings on doors and elevators, the elevators also have no audio information.
