Orka Cove Hotel Penthouse & Suites Adults Only

My wife and I are just back from a fantastic 2 week holiday at the Cove Hotel. Perfect adult only small hotel with only 16 huge rooms. We booked a penthouse suite which was amazing with jacuzzi etc. nice balcony overlooking pool and stunning views. The pool was great with a swim up bar and cabana beds for every room around pool. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. More of a Turkish style breakfast with fresh everything and you could get omelettes, scrambled eggs etc if you wanted. We will certainly come back again and would definitely recommend if your wanting a quiet relaxing holiday.

We booked this hotel because we were looking for a more quiet holiday to relax and sunbathe, explore a little around Ölüdeniz and I'm glad we did, the room we got has been excellent, and well cleaned every day. We had a problem with WiFi but it was resolved and I could tell the staff were trying to fix it. The staff are all very friendly and happy to help. There is a restaurant at the hotel with a range of items which serves all day and can be brought to room, it isn't amazing but is good enough and the portions are big, so you won't go hungry despite the secluded area Taxis are generally 300lira (£7.50) to town or the beach one way which we have done most nights for a meal out.

The hotel is lovely. It is a perfect place for couples to stay and spend quality time together uninterrupted. However, I would not come back until I know the hotel improves some major things. I am writing them in detail below. I believe this is a result of possibly not having a good operations manager who would be orchestrating everything to go smoothly in a hotel. Furthermore, it does not looks like staff has periodic training on customer service. And most importantly it seems like different parts of the operations in the hotel are running in silos and not in harmony. As a result. Overall operations is impacted and quality is low. Goods and not So Goods by Category: Rooms: Pro: Very clean, airy, modern rooms. Beds are large relative to many hotels. Inside the decoration is tasteful. Swim up rooms are lovely. Con: hotel towels are old, they have been overused and not feeling looking fresh. There is no hook by the shower area to hang your towels. People can't use swim up rooms much especially in early morning and evenings because pool water is not as warm. The hotel is up on a mountain it is a lively area. The water should feel warm in the mornings and evenings for a proper use in a luxury hotel. If management runs warm water into the pool at those hours, people will love it. Pool area: Pro: beautiful cabanas, very clean and nice pool. Swim up bar is very nice . Con: same as above. The pool needs warm water for early and evening swims. That would be ana amazing touch for this luxury hotel. Con: the hotel staff has not been trained to serve for customers at this caliber. They played inappropriate folkloric music loud without any solicitation from the guests. That kills the entire mood of the pool. The level of English for some staff is still not at a level they can communicate comfortably with guests. Not so appealing for nonlocal guests. Dinner: Pro: dining by the pool was a great experience. They have tables overlooking the mountain and the pool Con: the waiter did not seem know how to time the meals and brought all appetizers, main together. He did not ask us if we wanted desert. After an hour of meal where we had to eat our appetizers and main meal at the same time on a small table, we learnt the kitchen was closed without having a chance to order any desert. It was a disaster for a romantic dinner.
