It is a beautiful place for a wedding, treat, therapy, and relaxation away from all the hustle and bustle. The food was good. They catered for halal, gluten-free, and vegetarian food. The decor is very beautiful and attractive. The location is hidden away in Orsett, Grays. The therapy area is very relaxing, and the treatment is wonderful. Thank you.
Everything about Orsett Hall is great. The location is easily accessible and provides an oasis of nature while surrounded by industry. Smooth check-in and we also received an unexpected upgrade due to an issue with our original booked room. We were very, very happy with the alternative we were offered. The Grounds are lovely with established trees. We could see why people choose to have their wedding here. We ate in the main restaurant and were really impressed by the menu. The food was delicious, and the service was attentive. We are only in this area when there is a family event and we would not hesitate to return here.
Overall, nice place. Stayed in the Sartoria area, which is like a small annexe off the main hotel with a small bar/cafe. I'd stay again for both business and personal if in the area again, but perhaps take breakfast elsewhere. The room was bright and airy with patio style doors leading to a courtyard shared with the other rooms. This would probably be perfect for a group, but for an individual, it wasn't a great feature. The room also didn't have a fridge and only had some pretty rubbish plastic cups for drinks, clearly trying to get people to use the bar, I'd recommend they do put a fridge in for water or similar, it'a a small addition but in these rooms would make a difference. This building is wooden, so you can hear people moving around upstairs, which wasn't great until everyone had gone to bed. Evening meal in the Sartoria was really tasty and good value at £16 for a nice burger and fries, which was really nice. Side of onion rings were £4 which wasn't great as they were just the cheap frozen ones but did get plenty, so I wasn't particularly disappointed. Soft drink was £5 a pint. Hot breakfast was £16, tbh this was probably the most disappointing food there. The continental breakfast was poor with minimal variety other than standard packaged cereals and similar items. A better selection is usually available at a premier inn if I'm honest. The breakfast was cooked to order, and each component seemed well sourced but wasn't particularly flavoursome, and half a thin slice of black pudding was just a bit tight. Coffee was also to order and was provided a pot of coffee and jug of milk. 'Speciality coffee' was extra, again seemed unnecessarily tight when a push button machine can provide at just a low unit cost or provide a cafetiere so can brew the coffee to your taste. This was a midweek business stay, so not really what the hotel is for, I'd guess it's better for a hotel or event stay. Overall, I'd stay again even if this review sounds a bit neutral. For £95 for the night you can't complain and the venue is great for a nice evening/morning walk as show by the photos.
