Ortunc Hotel Boutique Class

We stayed at the Ortunc Hotel during the 15 July Democracy and National Unity Day weekend in 2025 with my wife. We really enjoyed the sea, the scenery, the rooms, the food and especially the nature. It’s a serene paradise just a 4-hour drive from Istanbul.

We stayed at Ortunc Hotel from April 18–20 to celebrate our anniversary. Here's my review in The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly format: The Good: Overall, we had a pleasant stay. The hotel grounds are beautifully maintained, offering a peaceful and scenic environment. The staff were courteous and tried their best to accommodate us. Housekeeping was excellent—our room was always clean and tidy. I also appreciated the use of high-end bath products like premium shampoos and lotions, which added a nice touch of luxury. The location is stunning, perfect for a tranquil getaway. Breakfast was a highlight—everything was fresh, tasty, and clearly prepared with care. The Bad: Given the price point of the rooms, the bed was smaller than expected and not as comfortable as we had hoped. This was the only real downside during our stay. The Ugly: Unfortunately, our anniversary dinner at the hotel restaurant was disappointing. The cocktails were average, and the food fell short of expectations—especially considering the high prices. My pasta was undercooked to the point of being nearly raw, and the service missed the mark. We were not given a chance to provide feedback or ask for a replacement. My wife’s seafood pasta came with only two shrimp, which felt underwhelming for the cost. For prices approaching those of Michelin-starred restaurants, the quality should reflect that standard. Additionally, no one followed up to ask how our overall stay was, which felt like a missed opportunity for the hotel to connect with guests and improve. Final Thoughts: Would I recommend Ortunc to visitors coming to Cunda? Yes—mostly because the overall stay was enjoyable. Just avoid dining at the hotel’s restaurant. If it weren’t for the dinner experience, I would have rated it 5 stars. But factoring that in, my overall rating is a 4 out of 5.
