We stayed here as IHG members and it definitely loves up to the good reputation IHG had - odd considering the other reviews here. Nothing about our room or the lobby made us think anything bad, quite the opposite. The staff was extremely friendly and room was spacious, clean, and comfortable with a great view! The location was great, central to all the sites we wanted visit throughout Osaka. Some of the other guests - like our neighbors who would run around loudly and yelling at 11pm - were an issue, but not the fault of the hotel. We loved the hotel despite our short 2-night stay and are sad to hear it will close.
Horrible service of some receptionist! Arrived at 12, "please come back at 15:00" can we leave the luggage at least, with a lot of effort it was. Hotel will be closed in a few months and some of the staff probably doesn't care anymore to work here. Swimming pool is closed since 1th of July. Lounge, cleaning etc very friendly! Club Lounge has limited on times on food and choice but very good quality. Open during the whole day for drinks or if you want to work. Rooms are good and spacious on the club lounge floors. Location is near a train and metro stop and 10 min walk to the Osaka sience museum.
The location is about a 9-10 minute walk to the metro with a Lawson just around the corner for snacks and a quick inexpensive meal. The hotel has Cafe on The Park for breakfast/brunch buffet, and a teppanyaki restaurant in the basement. Both of which are pricey especially the cafe if you don’t have it included with your stay. The variety of food and drinks are decent. Our room felt a bit strange, like it was unclean. The rooms are very old. The bathroom faucets were runny and hard to turn without making a loud squeaky noise. We discovered that the hotel will be closing its doors this October so don’t expect any updates on the condition of the building. It was difficult to sleep during the 5 days we were there - partly due to the TV turning on then off for a second in the middle of the night, but mostly the sensation that the room and bed wasn’t clean . By the third night of poor sleep, I discovered a cockroach early in the morning crawling on our clothes! I had to kill it quickly. I informed the front desk and we were moved to another room down the hall. Don’t know if it made much difference since it was on the same floor. I asked if there was any way our clothes can be cleaned but it didn’t seem possible for them to help with that, or more like they were reluctant to. I didn’t bother asking again as we had a busy schedule. I can say it was one of my most disappointing stays.
