We stayed here for the ACW Wrestling Con. (Room 424) If it wasn’t convenient for not drinking at the event and driving we would have checked out Saturday morning. The beds are honestly like sleeping on cement blocks. I never sleep bad in hotel beds, we barely slept Friday night. Plus side the beds and room were very clean. There’s a blinking light on the smoke alarm that blinks brightly all night. No free breakfast or pool. Then there’s this god awful noise that happens from about 6:30am - 9am. No clue what it is. The staff and shower saved this place from being a total waste of money. They were amazing. It has a lot of potential but our stay was just kinda a disappointment. Edited to add: the customer service and follow through on this was exceptional. We appreciate the time they look to look into our complaints and address the problems. Definitely top notch customer service. We will give them another chance in the future.
We stayed here for a wedding over a long weekend. I booked our room months in advance and requested early check in for 2:30pm weeks in advance, as we were part of the wedding party and very busy the day of our arrival. I understand that early check in is not guaranteed, however- not only was our room not ready at 2:30 it was also not ready at regular check in at 3:00pm. We waited at the hotel bar until a front desk staff approached us with our key around 3:15. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. The coffee/water was not adequately stocked for two people. No continental breakfast or pool facility. When we reserved we received a notification that we would be responsible to pay $3 per night for parking, upon check out we were informed it is actually $5 a night. Not a huge deal but we made sure to tell them that the reservation information had that wrong. You also have to sign up as a Marriott member, otherwise you are charged for WiFi usage and the coffee/water items in your room. Sunday morning at 8am we woke to maintenance noise happening, which was unpleasant, and we weren’t informed that it may impact our stay. Overall, this stay got the job done, but I would not say it qualifies as a four star hotel. I would also probably stay elsewhere in the future.
This is my 6th stay at this hotel. I always enjoyed Premier Best Western. Food, service, atmosphere were great. The place was always busy. Now it's changed to Marriott and it's changed in a big way. The rooms are nice and the location is still good. But that's where it stops. The outside sitting area by the water had 2 people. The inside area had maybe 6-8. The menu was terrible. The food was average. The pizza was so greasy I couldn't eat it. The upscale might work in some areas but when it's summertime and you have no business you are doing something wrong. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. I go to the races every year. That will be my last stay at Marriott. It's a shame!! Check in was fine but check out was a mess. Our waitress was very nice. At this rate she will be out of a job.
