Does live up to 3 stars. Nice hotel. Neat. Nice rooms. Just note the kitchen only starts getting ready from 7am. You generally only can sit for breakfast by 7:30 as by then all is ready. If you get in at 7, you can watch the restaurant prepare for the breakfast session.
I spent three weeks there. The room was clean. Apart from having breakfast there, I didn't try the restaurant because it was always empty. The staff were friendly, some more than others. The main issue is that the quality of service was not consistent. My room was tidied up in many different ways; towels and bathroom supplies were not regularly replenished; breakfast had different items every day depending on the supplies (ranging from a couple of things to a pretty rich set-up) and the presence of supervisors. One or two staff members were very proactive, while the rest would stand disinterested aside, and I didn't feel comfortable asking them for anything extra. One could get fried eggs/omelet, but you must ask for that. I found it out by chance. The location was convenient for me because of proximity to the office, otherwise, I am not sure I would have stayed there for this long.
DISAPPOINTING ARRIVAL EXPERIENCE. We arrived at Otia Hotel on the night of 11 July after an exhausting 12-hour drive, only to be told that there were no rooms available despite having a confirmed booking through Booking.com. We were informed that the hotel had been overbooked from the previous day and that no rooms could be provided. We were kept waiting for nearly 3 hours, repeatedly being told that “the boss is on the way.” During this time, not a single staff member offered so much as a glass of water, and the attitude from the manager Noor was shockingly rude and unhelpful. There was no apology, no courtesy, and not even a smile. Eventually, two rooms were “found” — the exact ones we had originally booked — but we were further delayed by issues with inactive key cards. Thankfully, those were resolved, and we were finally checked in. To be clear, the rooms themselves are good, and the hotel has potential, but the customer service was absolutely unacceptable. The lack of professionalism, empathy, and basic hospitality from the manager leaves a very bitter taste. Would not recommend it unless the management seriously improves. Relieve Noor from his duties.
