Exceptional Stay – Highly Recommend! Our experience at the OTL Hotel was nothing short of fantastic. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded expectations. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, always ready to assist with a smile. The room was spotless and spacious, with a super comfortable king-size bed that made it hard to get up in the morning! One of the highlights was the superb breakfast—fresh omelettes made to order, a wide variety of high-quality options, and everything beautifully presented. It truly set the tone for the day. Another thoughtful touch was the delicious tea provided in the room, which we enjoyed while relaxing in the evening. Small details like this made the experience feel even more special. We felt well taken care of from start to finish. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a relaxing, top-tier stay. Would absolutely return!
It’s a very nice hotel, kind of a weird location in a strip mall area. Getting a premium room with access to the spa made it a special experience. The room was fine, the beds and bedding were very comfortable, and the shower was among the best hotel showers I’ve experienced. However, the ventilation system rattled 24 hours/day, which was unpleasant at night, and the room could not reach a cool enough temp to be completely comfortable for sleeping. The housekeeping staff were clearly working hard all day, but honestly, the service in the room left something to be desired. The beds were not well made. (And yes, we had left a tip.) Also, the carpet in the hallway was filthy - there was a lot of detritus on the floor on the whole length. The pool and hot tubs were fun for our kids and decent for lap swimming, but there was too much chlorine (and I thought it was supposed to be a salt-water pool?) The gym was especially well-equipped - lots of cardio machines and full selection of free weights. The breakfast was very good, especially the egg station, but I will never understand why a hotel in Quebec would have such terrible pastries - they were grocery-store quality. The full spa with indoor and outdoor water circuit features is definitely the best part of the hotel. I won’t be going to Saguenay often, but I would stay here again for this feature. If you get a premium room, it includes unlimited spa access. Honest rating overall is a 3.75/5.
My first experience at the OTL was in Sherbrooke QC, which was outstanding to say the least, and one we stayed at more than once. We made the reservation for the one in Saguenay well in advance and kept on getting emails reminding us that we could cancel our reservation if we needed - last minute changes, bla bla bla. We were even worried about it, especially because it was going to be a 6+h drive to get there. Well, the OTL in Chicoutimi does not compare to the one in Sherbrooke, at all! Breakfast staff was great and very welcoming. Rooms were clean and ok. Mattresses and pillows could be more comfortable. Shower floor is very slippery. Be careful! We spent two nights and NO A/C. We had to go to Walmart across the street and buy a fan! There are a handful of marked parking spaces by the hotel entrance. Then on the side, there are two “parking” areas, all gravel covered, no markings, people park randomly, 5 feet away from each other, very disorganized. And just to think you’re paying a 4* price for a hotel that won’t provide the basics. So, if you’re looking for a good OTL experience, go to the one in Sherbrooke.
