The location of this lodge is amazing - on a beautiful beach, one of the best I've ever seen - and the bungalows are nicely designed. The staff were very friendly with us and patient with our children and our lack of French. We even had an issue with paying with our credit card on our last day and they were very patient and understanding with us. It is expensive yes, but the food and amenities were of good quality so overall the pricing was reasonable for New Caledonia (which is generally expensive anyway) and especially so being on an island. Would definitely recommend!

We stayed for 3 nights at this resort, located at Kanumera Bay. The beach is exquisite there. The grounds are beautiful and such a peaceful vibe. We wished we had stayed longer. We stayed in a tropical bungalow with our 3 yr old daughter in a separate bed, in the same room which was fine. The bungalow was a hop skip and jump away from the beach itself. Buffet breakfast was good with nice selection of food. We found everyone working at the resort to be friendly and helpful, just one staff member appeared a bit less helpful and we were given a bit of conflicting info about how/where to book bikes to use, but this was minor considering everything else was fantastic with our stay. We made use of free snorkeling and kayak gear and had such a relaxing stay on such a beautiful beach/resort. Would definitely recommend and definitely want to go back!

The location is prime. Make use of the beach - snorkel over the corals, find the turtles, kayak on the bay or laze on the beach. The rooms are comfortable and reasonably clean, not squeaky clean, and decor a bit tired, so get the cheapest room - the beech is so close to all of them. Try not to eat there if you can - it is SOOOO overpriced. I had 2 dinners there - they are not as good as they pretend and they cost like it's a top restaurant, when it's just average food. It's a walking distance from the next door gite that has a restaurant, and from the Nautilus on the next beach over - they may not be better but they will be cheaper. Take advantage of the activities (Natural Pool!!!) but make sure you ASK everything as they don't volunteer any information (ask what to bring, ask for a map for actually getting to the pool and back). They don't even tell you the kayaks at the resort are free for you if you don't ask how much they cost... Most of the staff are friendly and welcoming, if quite laid back. Booking things with reception can sometimes end up getting lost and the next staff member can growl at you for no fault of your own... Overall - it's a great place. You can easily spend your entire New Caledonia vacation on the Isle of Pines and not feel like you've missed out on anything, but beware of the prices and the tourist traps - not everything is worth what you are paying for it.
