Ouril Hotel Mindelo

A modern and very nice hotel, close by the centre of Mindelo, but not too close. 😉 Great if you want to check out the carnival, and still want to sleep at night. Also close to the beach, and a bunch of nice restaurants in the centre. The hotel's restaurant is also good.

Nice hotel in a good location but didn't get clean towels, bed made or clean coffee cups and when I politely enquired why I astounded but the rudeness of the reception staff. Good location if you're going fishing but if you expect your room cleaned and to be treated like a paying guest then stay somewhere else.

The cleaning stuff stole $200 off my wallet during my stay at this hotel. It hurts as I’m Cape Verdean who came back home to enjoy, first time visiting this island being robbed in a hotel is so heartbreaking. Out of the $1000 in my pocket they took $200 out so it won’t be too obvious. I went in to speak to the manger and she said there’s lock in room I should have left my wallet there, like in another words “ my stuff steal, so keep your money in the safe.” I travel constantly and been to more than 50 countries worldwide I’ve never had this type of situation before. In a hotel I’m supposed to be safe not hiding my stuff. I’ll report them to Agoda where I did my booking and alert people around here and abroad about this hotel.
