Over Mountains Hotel

This family run establishment is not rated as a 5-star hotel but definitely deserves a 5 star rating review. A very friendly, helpful and service oriented place to stay. They really did make you feel as if you were a part of the family. The son gave us many trust worthy tips and advices for the Petra sites (the Treasury, the Monastery, the tombs, the trails and etc…). Breakfast is always ready for the time that we specified. Since we stayed for 4 nights, the owner (father) invited us to their home for a family dinner. It gave us a peek into the typical life of a Jordanian family. We tasted traditional dishes and had desserts over tea and coffee. We chatted about life in Jordan and played a game with his grown up children. We are touched by their openness and kindness. Although, the accommodation is not up to the North American standards, the Over Mountains Hotel deserves a high rated review for its services and friendliness. We definitely recommend Over Mountains hotel to anyone staying in Wadi Musa.

Over Mountains Hotel near Petra is conveniently located close to the town center and easily accessible by car. The hotel provides good value, with clean, comfortable rooms, and we were pleasantly surprised to receive a complimentary room upgrade. The host was very friendly and helpful, making it a great choice for visiting Petra.
