Palace Gracia Nextdoor

Good place for short stay.

Comfortable and cosy apartment in a great location, wifi is not great, wonderful power shower though very dark bathroom and good enough kitchen but extremely loud construction outside bedroom window. Customer service was polite and responsive but inadequate and unrealistic- they declined to take responsibility saying they could not have known about the planned works which is ridiculous as it is their job to know- it is even made public via BCN road works website. As a tourist I should not have more information about massive roadworks outside the flat than the management company. They offered a different apartment in a different area without the amenities our original booking had and requested an additional payment on top of our accumulated discomfort. Would not recommend booking with Palace Gracia Nextdoor. Will be taking this matter up with Expedia and Visa when we return home as Palace Gracia Nextdoor are ill-equipped and unhelpful in finding a reasonable solution to their mistake. Had we known about the construction works, we would have booked elsewhere and through their negligence of passing pertinent information, they acquired our booking nevertheless. Unacceptable.

Two stars as the apartment itself was lovely however the customer service was horrible. We were left outside the apartment for over two hours on our arrival to Barcelona. Kept having to phone their office to chase them up. The man that finally arrived was friendly enough however the initial process was a bit of a disgrace and our stay turned out to be more expensive than what we'd initially anticipated through booking.com. Would not return or recommend
