Very pleasant experience overall. Super friendly staff and amazing view from the pool area. Easy access to restaurants and shops. Unfortunately the lift was broken for almost 2 days. It’s an issue if you have accessibility issues or had 1 too many and try going up 4 flights of stairs. Would definitely go back in the future!
I would NOT recommend this hotel if your looking for something more modern and fancy. We got this hotel through Hotwire Hotrate which means that the hotel name is revealed after you pay. We are from Canada and came to Brazil for the 1st time. So I would describe Canadian 5 star hotels are about a 3 star in Brazil. The room we got is very spacious which is nice. The location is awesome since its on the beach. The beds are comfortable. Washroom is clean. However, everything is very outdated/old. This morning I woke up with little dots on my left hand which are SUPER itchy. I then noticed little bugs inside our room UGH. While I took a hair shower yesterday the drain got plugged. The water is not very hot and does take awhile to get warm. The handles are super old to the washroom and sink. AC is great but again super old and loud. TV we didnt use but seems useless and old. There is wifi at the hotel but its SUPER SLOW. The buffet was okay nothing that shined through for us. The customer service is awesome as everyone took the time to translate everything into English for us. The front desk has booked us a car for 110 reals per day which is good. The pool is VERY small. On a sunny day it could be very busy with not many chairs available to use. The room service was awesome no complaints there. We are here until Mar 8th 2019 which sucks since everyone is here for the Carnival. I would recommend this hotel to a younger crowd who are mainly coming for the Carnival or to party. I would recommend this hotel if your a couple who would only come back to the hotel at night to sleep and if you dont mind hostels. I personally WILL NOT COME BACK. I found Hotwire and the hotel website to be very misleading. Pictures and social media portrayed this hotel to be like a "palace" when it is not. Definitely disappointed.
Great view from sea facing rooms (not so good from some side facing rooms - check which room you have been allocated, as they charge the same price for very different side sea-view rooms). Rooms somewhat tired/worn and would benefit from refurb, although functional. Lovely small pool with seating and bar service, particularly good for small children. Direct access from poolside to beach. Terrible service received when hotel claimed we had damaged sheet (although only washable pens had been used in room), to try to charge us extra after we had checked out (RS125 for a cheap single sheet worth less than half that, if new). Reception staff said they they didn't use very good detergent to try to make the sheets last longer! Asked to talk to manager, who never appeared (and did not follow up by email either). Issue not resolved satisfactorily - I will update review if this changes. Apart from this issue, staff were mostly friendly and helpful, although they could not arrange a taxi for 6 people plus luggage (so I had to do it myself). Also cleaners did not clean bedroom, empty bins or change towels on one day. Overall I can't recommend the hotel because of poor service issue which spoiled the end of our holiday. I have now read some other reviews and this issue appears to be a repeated scam; my message to the hotel management: guests expect hotels to clean items as part of the daily charge; dirt is not damage that merits an extra charge.
