This hotel was once one of the most expensive and elegant hotels in Chihuahua. Artists like Shakira and Luis Miguel stayed there. Unfortunately, one day, they said it was going to be remodeled, and it closed in 2019. It was finally abandoned. The owner said it was a private decision whether they would sell the hotel or not. But in 2022, it was confirmed that it was sold to a medical company. They say it will house laboratories, X-rays, a reception, babies, and an ambulance.
The Hotel Palacio del Sol was an icon in the hotel industry in Chihuahua City for its architecture, its length of over 80 meters, and, above all, the quality of its services. The business was reportedly operated by various administrations and finally closed in early 2019. After suspending operations, the owners began auctioning off the hotel's equipment and furnishings. It's now closed, but at the time it was the best. It's sad to see the waste of a beautiful historic hotel. It's a shame how it ended up being closed, with no hope of reopening, because even the dog is selling.
