Palacio Viejo de Las Corchuelas

This was our second visit to the wonderful Palacio Viejo de las Corchuelas. We were delighted to see Carmen, Amaranta and all the delightful staff again. The abundance of wildlife and tranquillity here is exceptional - topped off with superb local cuisine. We had a marvellous visit to watch vultures from the hide - what an experience! The windows are one-way so these nervous birds cannot see you and the views as they come down to feed, plus the sound of their wings is a truly unforgettable thing. We had incredible views of black, griffon and Egyptian vulture plus countless black kites. The ride up in Carmen's truck is also an adventure. Thank you Carmen and Amaranta - we hope to see you again soon and send hugs in the meantime!

We spent 4 lovely days at El Palacio de Las Corchelas. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a natural break in nature. It is surrounded by the Monfrague natural park, teaming with wildlife. The food was home made and mostly made with produce from their land. The owner Carmen is charming and kind, along with all the staff. We found everything perfect and hopefully will be able to return one day.

Carmen and her team has done a fantastic job to make us feel like “king and queen”! The room is spacious and the beds are comfortable. We ate very well with their home-grown products. Carmen has her own animals and vegetable farm. This is a real 0 km hotel restaurant. On top of that, they know how to cook. We had some wonderful vegetable soup, salad and goat meat stew for dinner. Their location is best for star-gazing. In the morning, you wake up with hearing the sound of nature, singing of the birds! It’s a wonderful retreat from a city life!
