We would absolutely stay here again. The whole building is beautiful and a wonderful introduction to Tunis. The staff were welcoming and amazingly helpful, helping with our transport from the airport and again on to another resort. It’s a little hard to find but that just means it’s lovely and quiet. We also ate there and the food was lovely (albeit a little slow at lunchtime as I don’t think they were quite ready - but that was fine, we were relaxing!)

Staying at Bayram Palace feels like sleeping inside a piece of art. The architecture alone is worth the trip — every tile, arch, and carving tells a story. The inner courtyard is breathtaking, especially at night when the lights soften and bounce off the mosaic walls. It’s quiet, elegant, and deeply atmospheric. You can tell this place carries history — not in a dusty way, but like a living memory. Mornings were slow and peaceful. Light filtered through the ornate windows, casting patterns on the wall — the kind of light that makes you pause, coffee in hand, and just breathe. The breakfast spread was generous, full of local flavors and little touches that made it feel homemade. Not flashy, just genuine. This is not your average hotel. It’s a calm retreat in the heart of the Medina, where you feel tucked away from the noise but deeply connected to the place. If you’re into rich interiors, silence, and a slower pace, Bayram Palace hits the mark.

The building itself is historic! And very nice to stay in. The staff’s behaviour was nice and collaborative, however there was no water , and they charge for it when I ask, and there were no tissues ! Additionally , the trash bin was only one and it was in the bathroom. The area was very traditional and conservative, furthermore, it was not safe to walk in at night, I confirmed that with locals as well.
