Palazzo del Vice Re

We stayed at Palazzo del Vicerè with our three children and had an absolutely wonderful experience. From the start, Arianna was incredible—extremely kind, responsive, and personally attentive. She even drove us from the ferry station herself, which was such a warm welcome. Our mornings were brightened by a delicious breakfast in the elegant palazzo setting, and the hotel’s private beach was spacious and beautifully kept—just like other guests rave about . On our departure day, Arianna surprised us with freshly made pistachio croissants—such a thoughtful and generous gesture! Her son Nicola was also a huge help during our stay, friendly and attentive, always ready to assist with a smile. Between the historic charm of the restored building, the perfectly located waterfront, and the exceptional hospitality, this place truly stands out. It felt like staying with family, with every detail thoughtfully arranged to welcome families like ours. We’re already looking forward to returning.

Palazzo is quite a magnificent place to stay while visiting Como. If you want a lot of people, crowded restaurants with tourist and loud areas, this is not the place for you. The magic of this place resides on: Its location: you can truly appreciate the spirit of the lake. The construction from the 1700’s still maintaining the original painting (frescos) from the ceilings in the rooms. The place is not handicap accessible so you have to be aware that is not for everyone. It’s only a 6 bedroom property which is amazing. The access to the beach and having a sun terrace with a mini bar at your disposal it’s a great touch. The view: a picture says more than one thousand words. The staff: what a delightful way to enjoy your vacations with the attention to detail, service and hospitality of the staff. Arianna and team make you feel special all the time.

My wife and I finished our honeymoon here at the Palazzo. It was our first time in Italy and we had traveled from Southern Italy on the Amalfi Coast North through Rome, Florence, and Venice to Lake Como in the town of Lezzeno. We had no idea what we were in for, and it was greater than we could have imagined. The Palazzo is a gem, a piece of beautiful history to experience and enjoy. The host, the owner, the staff, the breakfast, the rooms, are truly top tier and extremely accommodating. My wife and I can’t speak highly enough about this place. We enjoyed the sailing experience offered in addition the stay (one of the few on the lake at all), the local wine selections, the local cheeses and meats at breakfast each morning with every rooms personal table setting. So intimate and a very personal touch in every aspect of our stay. We will be returning and we look forward to many more years exploring Lake Como from our home base of Palazzo Del Vice Re.
