We chose Gattini Hotel for our wedding and it was an unforgettable experience! Our room had breathtaking views of the Sassi! The service was exceptional—attentive to every detail and always ready to help, making our stay and our wedding day truly special. Thanks a lot to every member of staff for it! 🥰 An important moment was the hotel’s thoughtfulness in accommodating our elderly guest with mobility challenges. They provided an accessible room with two bathrooms which was incredibly convenient and made their stay much more comfortable. Every aspect, from the ambiance to the hospitality, was top! If you’re looking for a hotel that combines beauty, comfort, and impeccable service this is the place to stay! P.S. As well we celebrated our wedding at their restaurant and roof top terrace and everything was great!
Superb hotel, room views were amazing, hot tub, and great breakfast. Very friendly staff and just the best location.
Visited for a night’s stay in Matera. Whilst the location was ideal and the hotel has a certain charm to it, I was extremely disappointed by the dinner I had in the restaurant. My wife and I visit Italy frequently, perhaps 5-10 times a year on short trips, and we both concluded the meal to be the most disappointing we have ever had. Whilst there was nothing wrong in terms of presentation, the food lacked any flavour or freshness typically associated with Italy. It was just bland and tasteless, even the tomato pasta which was akin to a ready meal warmed up in a microwave than something you expect in an Italian restaurant. I also ordered a bottle of fine wine, one I have drunk several times before so I know the taste quite well. I couldn’t shake the impression that the bottle had been refilled with a cheap knockoff wine (perhaps through no fault of the hotel as I can imagine unscrupulous suppliers can do this too) as there was nothing in the taste that I recognised from the previous such bottles I’ve had; it was coarse to the point of being undrinkable. Overall, the hotel itself was pleasant (if a little poorly illuminated) and the staff were friendly but the experience for us was heavily sullied by the dinning experience.
