Definitely book a room in this hotel if you want to explore the city of Palermo. It is strategically located in the city center, near the market, near restaurants, near some of the most interesting attractions of the city. On top of that you are very close to a municipal parking lot where most probably you will find a parking spot if you happen to travel by car. The hotel is new, the rooms are very comfortable and continuously air conditioned something that is extremely useful in the summer. The breakfast options are a lot with some traditional options like the canolli siciliani and the possibility to have a typical Italian coffee (espresso or cappuccino).
During our Italy Tour this hotel was our last stop which is in the heart of Palermo. The room was decent but I wish they had a full length mirror in the room. The complimentary breakfast was subpar and could use a little bit more options such as Hardboiled eggs. As this hotel is in the busy streets of Palermo, the busy streets are heard nearby and I believe an apartment was by us. I was awaken by the locals on the balcony of their home chatting away at 0300 in the morning. There is a pub called Shelby right across the street where you can enjoy people watching and car/mopeds watching galore.
This was honestly one of the worst hotel stays I’ve had. There were no slippers provided in the room, and when we asked for earplugs, the curly-haired staff member on the night shift told us they had run out and suggested we go out and buy them ourselves. I don’t think that should be the guest’s responsibility — the hotel should handle it, or at the very least, try to help. He was unhelpful and dismissive the entire time. We were also told that the restaurant couldn’t be booked in advance, but when we arrived, it was fully booked and we were turned away. This just added to the frustration. As for the room — we stayed on the third floor facing the street, and it was incredibly noisy all night. The windows weren’t double-glazed, just thin glass, and the walls were paper-thin. We could hear other guests slamming doors and noise from neighboring rooms constantly. The one positive was the grey-haired staff member — he was super kind and helpful Overall, this was a very poor experience, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here — especially if you value comfort, quiet, or decent service.
