Palm Court Motor Inn

1 night stay as a family of 4 in March, rooms clean enough but does need updating espically the bathroom, very cramped and no power point. We basically just slept there, showered and moved on. Good pillows but generally a bit tired, spa bath in the courtyard needs a make over too. Close to a lot of attractions, so that was a bonus, host a little abrupt.

I stayed with my daughter in the school holidays and I really wish I had read the reviews first. Our room had an unpleasant smell and we found 3 massive cockroaches. The man at reception gave us fly spray and said they come in because it's a geothermal area yet I have never experienced this problem in any other Rotorua accommodation.

There is no air conditioning, but an adequate wall heater. There is no mixer tap in the kitchen or bathroom, so you can have either very cold or boiling hot water. The shower was a trickle and was very hot on the lowest temperature. The room was not made up when we went out for the day. We unfortunately had paid for 2 nights and asked for 2 milks (250ml UHT) when we arrived and asked for another one the second day and was told “no you got 2 yesterday”. The spa was good. Would not recommend this motel.
