Well located hotel 5 min away from the train station and metro line 2 (but you have to walk up and it is steep, especially with luggage - you can also take a cab from somewhere else as the pedestrian street also accepts cars at reduced speeds). Rooms are spacious, modern and clean. I wish the hotel had a real lobby where you can sit and have coffee. Instead, you have to walk to the patio area and can sit there for free (as a guest) or enjoy a quiet afternoon in the sofas with a view over the semi tropical garden. The corridors are a bit utilitarian and the furniture in general feels a bit too modern and woody for me. The couches in the room and in the coffee area could be of more luxurious feel. Great also we had our room early (12pm) which was much appreciated. Less great is they can give you late checkout but via 30 CHF an hour. Don't know what to think about that one. Definitely give it a try.
I can say the hotel is true value for money. It’s located at the center of Lausanne, very central and close to restaurants and shop. It takes around 20 minutes if you wish to walk to the lake which is a great place where you can have a short walk. The rooms are clean and tidy, quiet and nice. I don’t suggest to buy breakfast as it’s around 20 CHF per day, you could rather pick up breakfast from alternative cafes around. Paid parking is offered just next to the hotel
reviews about the hotel's inconsistent service is true. i booked very last minute (as in, 10' prior to check-in) via booking.com and was pleasantly surprised at the facilities. however the receptionists acted like inexperienced interns, housekeeping and bar staff are unaccommodating and impolite. maybe the Swiss way, but nonetheless I hold higher standards w hospitality.
