Pantheon Relais

Run down facility in a great location, 15 meters from the Pantheon. A/C is broken in the Poseidon room and the electrical panel buzzed loudly for a minute every few hours during the night, waking us up. There is no reception staff on the premises most of the time and complaints to the hotel via email went unanswered. Guests in adjacent rooms are clearly audible, as is street noise from below (busy tourist area). Nice cleaning staff brings adequate breakfasts every morning and cleans up well, but otherwise there are no services or frills of any kind. Borderline acceptable for the 100 euros/day we paid just for the location but you don't want to pay more than that. Rack rate on the wall is 539 euros plus tax, which is ludicrous.

5 star is a crazy stretch. I honestly have no clue how they got that rating. The only pro I can say is the location. Very convenient to popular sites and good food. For the cons. You can not contact this company before your stay, it's impossible. They will reach out to you the day before your stay with the entry info. We did finally get a response by messaging them on Instagram. The room was covered in black mold, the walls were dirty, the bathroom door doesn't close, and the bed is 2 single mattresses pushed together. The breakfast menu is minimal but fine. The AC stopped working one day but we were able to catch the reception person before they were gone for the day. There is only a person at reception for a couple hours in the morning then they are gone for the day. All in all, would never pay that price to stay there again. There are other lower rated places in the area that look way nicer with better reviews.

I had a deeply disappointing experience with this place. After a 14-hour international flight, I arrived late at night to find the door locked, no check-in instructions, and no one answering emails, phone calls, or even Expedia messages. I was left stranded on the street with my luggage and had to find another hotel on the spot. Despite multiple follow-ups, they’ve refused to issue a refund or acknowledge the situation. I’m sharing this so others are aware, please be cautious when booking here.
