We had a wonderful stay at the Parador de Àvila. Always an excellent hotel to stay for service and location. Last night we ate at the restaurant and was served by Andres who was friendly and helpful. We both had incredible meals and can highly recommend the 50th anniversary dessert, honestly the best orange dessert we have ever had. Thank you Parador and Andres for a lovely experience 😊
Great place to stay! Highly recommended. It has everything, but it is pricey. Good for a long weekend trip with your partner.
I booked this stay direct with the Parador website but my Mum booked her room on booking.com and got a better room for the same money we paid which seems wrong so that's a lesson for the future. Service in the parador was very good and the interior and common rooms were lovely. We had a standard room and it was perfectly adequate with enough space for a desk and lots of storage. The rooms were lovely and quiet although the wifi for our room (227) needs improving with a booster as the strength dropped to 8ooKB/s on the desk although closer to the door it was up to 5MB/s. There was also no kettle or coffee machine or free water. There is free parking reserved for Parador clients near the hotel which is on a first come, first served basis or you can book a parking slot in the garage for €12 (I think) a night. Overall it was a fabulous base to explore the town, the cathedral was about 10 minutes walk and one of the gates was a few minutes walk.
