Parador de Baiona

So beautiful. Views from all around the peninsula were breathtaking and there is a walk inside the fortress and outside down to the rocks and beach. The property is spectacular yet unassuming. Went back for the burgers in the bar and the dining room full breakfast too. Both best stay in Spain yet. I don’t want to leave and can’t wait to come back!

Fantastic location, beautiful property and very kind and efficient staff! This parador and the town of Baiona are well worth a visit. We especially loved drinks on the terrace overlooking the ocean and the walk around the peninsula.

We were surprised to find that the interior of the rooms were very tired and very poorly decorated. As an example, the room that we were booked into by the window and behind the curtains, the paint was literally peeling off the walls. The ceiling had damp patches. This was all very unsightly for a four-star hotel.  In the bathroom the wood at the bottom by the freestanding shower was twisted and warped with damp. Not only was this unsightly but the reason for this was clear. The shower leaked profusely at the bottom, leaving a lot of water on the marble floor. This was also a health and safety issue because the floor was very slippy with such water spillage. We stopped using this shower and used the shower in the bath. These conditions were frankly unaccepable. It is such a pity that we had such tired and poorly decorated bedrooms.  It really took the shine off what was to be such a pleasant stay.
