Had the Coronado room on the 6th floor facing the ocean. It was an okay room we had some issues like the smell of sewer coming from the drains. Seems like the toilet, shower and sink are all connected to the same drain pipe and an awful sewer smell comes up. The room also had a musty smell. A/C worked fine. They need some floor mat towels and hand towels, they only stock up on regular shower towels. I requested new towels but never received them. The room service was fairly fast enough and the food was really good. The buffet is also really good. Another thing I found annoying was we couldn’t bring down coolers to the pool after spending $1960 for 4 days you’d think they’d be alright w/it. Also still having to pay for parking for each day we’re staying there seemed unfair. The elevators worked every now and then. Won’t be coming back to stay here maybe just to eat at the restaurant.
This historic hotel is perfectly situated on the beach in Rosarito. The Pacific Tower swimming pool was heated sufficiently to be comfortable. The food in the restaurant was acceptable, but not outstanding. The view from my ninth floor Pacific Tower hotel room was outstanding. I was disappointed in the room, however. It had a kitchenette, but no sponge, soap, or dish towel were provided. The bathroom had nice sized bath towels, but no hand towels for use at the sink. One bag of coffee was to be provided each day and additional ones could be purchased. One was in our room when we arrived, but it was never replenished according to the hotel zone schedule. Is near as I could tell made service was limited to replacing the bath towels and the bathmat and washing the dishes. It was obvious the floor was never cleaned nor were the trash cans emptied. Happy hour prices were great! This hotel has a lot of history and much of it was recounted with several static displays and photos. The bed was comfortable however the mattress was only about a foot off the floor, making it uncomfortable to get in and out of. Parking is secure and for a weekday there was plenty of it
This place treats you like a child. Must have a wristband to enter each building. I had a big group and we were put in different buildings preventing us from entry to each others since it’s color coded. Have a guest? Forget about it! You have to pay $100/be registered to get a guest in your room. Absolutely insane.
