I spent 5 nights as a solo-traveller at this wonderful boutique resort. The ambience was beautiful and relaxing. The location was fantastic, with good access to the beach and the nearby shops. Being a nature lover, I enjoyed being surrounded by the well maintained frangipani trees and bougainvillea gardens. I was greeted by the beautiful chirps of the birds every morning. I also have to say that the wonderful staff are the heart and soul of this place. Special shoutouts to the bell boy Wawan, and the friendly Makcik at the restaurant, and the spa ladies. The staff also took great care to arrange a traditional night market event for us- it was a delightful experience with good food, performance and music. The room was huge. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, and the balcony was spacious. The only area that I would say need an improvement in would be that the bathroom can do with some renovation and upgrade. It was slighted dated- there’s some yellowing around the shower curtains and groutings. The bath tub has yellowed with age. I just use it as a standing shower. I did not get to use the pool due to my busy schedule. Overall, I would highly recommend this place as I find it value-for-money given the good location and friendly staff!
Poor communication, unkept promises, and overwhelming noise. I came here seeking a quiet retreat and a peaceful space to meet a healer in my room the next day. Instead, I was met with nonstop noise, dishonesty, and a deeply uncomfortable situation. At check-in, I specifically asked for a quiet room and was told there would be a show until 9 or 9:30 PM. Once in my room, the noise from the waterfalls, fountains, and live performance was so loud that I couldn’t even hear my TV—with all doors and windows closed. The manager came up and agreed it was loud. I called down twice more and was told a different story each time—once that there was no noise, and another time that it would end by 7 PM. Eventually, I was told I could receive a refund if I emailed through the app. I did so right away. After 25 minutes with no response, I called—“she’s looking into it.” Ninety minutes later, still nothing. I returned to the front desk to follow up and was forced to argue with the manager. He later came to my room again, uninvited, to “listen to the noise.” I asked him to leave. He refused. As a solo female traveler, this made me feel extremely uncomfortable and unsafe. He only started to leave after I raised my voice. I was left stuck, unable to sleep, listening to a terrible singer performing for four tables while the entire hotel had to suffer the volume. Despite telling me I could check out and get a refund, no one followed up or called back. And to top it all off, the bathtub was filthy. There are so many better hotels that actually respect their guests, communicate honestly, and prioritize safety. This was a completely unacceptable experience. Avoid this place, especially if you are a single traveler
Rooms in bad need of updating especially the bathroom. Cracked mirror, shower head covered in limescale, black mold on sink. Infestation of insects which were crawling around the bathroom, bedroom and up around the kettle area. At one point they were crawling on me. Checked out after one night and concierge tried to 1. Not give me my money back 2. Then decided they were going to charge me for two nights 3. Told me I had to go through booking.com 4. Tried to fob me off and said they couldn’t refund me until Monday cause the bank wasn’t open. Eventually I got a notification to say my booking.com booking had changed with them - they still charged me for one night in that disgusting room. So I got a cash refund and manager asked me to keep it quiet and not put a bad review up about their hotel. Also asked for cutlery from staff the night before - all the dining tables were set so I just lifted a set up and said ok to take to my room to which the server nearly jumped out of her skin and went rooting in a jam packed drawer and brandished me with dirty and rusty cutlery. Would not recommend this hotel. Fine for location but badly in need of a complete overhaul.
