I’m currently writing this review as I wait on hold for over 20 minutes to get my AC fixed. The AC has been running for hours and my room is 88 degrees F or 30 degrees C and it’s 11 PM at night. I have my newborn with me and this has still not been addressed. On top of that, the hotel is dated and overpriced. You have to buy a lounge chair just to use their beach? I’m not one to write reviews, but this is just terrible. Avoid this location. Update: we were placed in a new room with air conditioning at 1:30AM. The gentleman who helped us on the night shift was very professional. I will update this review following our stay. Update: we were placed in a third new room and provided a room upgrade due to the issues of the first night. The hotel manger, Jason, was very professional and made sure the rest of our stay was great. I also want to give a special note to the night shift hotel manager who was an amazing communicator and very professional. While he didn’t create the problems, he dealt with them in a timely manner! I am updating my review from 1 to 4.
Stayed for 6 nights in a ocean view room. View from our room and all around the resort we're amazing. The only issue we had was with our room's A/C unit. It wouldn't go below 24 or 25 degrees and it was too hot for us to sleep or enjoy our room. The manager and maintenance crew did try to make it better for us, but it only got marginally better. We're from San Francisco so the heat and humidity were really difficult and impacted our stay.
Pros: The hotel offers good value with decent rooms, especially those with water views. It’s generally cheaper than nearby hotels and includes breakfast. The staff are friendly and always willing to help, there’s beautiful vegetation and good quality soap and cream. There are plenty of play options for kids, and late check-out is allowed for free. Guests can request extras like mattress toppers or tea sets. Access in and out of the site is easy, and the bed linens are good quality. Nice music in evenings. Cons: The buffet is overpriced, slow, and bland, especially disappointing given the Italian location. Cocktails are poor quality and expensive, and breakfast food can be cold later in the morning. The beach umbrellas must be paid and beach is shared with a campsite. The solarium lacks shade, the walking path to the beach is steep and in poor condition, making every walk to the room a hot hike. There's no in-room water provided despite a note discouraging drinking tap water, the toilet seat is uncomfortably high, the shower door didn’t close properly, and the safe didn't work. Room shutters were only way to lock but block all light - so you need to choose between light or locked.
