Park Hotel Folgarida

Really good hotel staff with good skills in english communication. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Well equipped gym and swimming pool large enough to swim in (you need to make an appointment in order to use swimming pool). Really nice playground room for children. Standard breakfast (same every day, but tasty) and varied dinners every day. The only minus I have noticed was that most 'hot' meals were cold, including scrambled eggs in the morning - and that's why I gave 4 stars not 5.

The hotel is located on a leg of the ski area. There is no night life other than in the hotel, a fact I missed when booking. They have the same male singer every night, while his voice is good the volume is loud enough to put a stop to any conversation in the bar area. By the end of the week we had enough of hearing him. There is plenty of food but of a very average quality. The hotel is large but the twin room we had was small, I have had much better at other hotels. The hotel is advertised as ski in ski out, the path out is too steep for beginners and no effort is made to prepare it in any way. To ski back it is either a walk up the slope, making sure no one is coming down to collide with you, or a unofficial off piste cut through. No effort was made to clear the path to reception for 3 days making it difficult for guest to get their suitcases through. Not impressed with ski hire, took my skis back after the first run. Staff not willing to change them, stated the only better ones would be 25 Euros extra which I paid to get a pair worth skiing on for the week. Even after paying the extra limited selection. Would I stay at the hotel again? NO!

Not the hotel for its price! Food is average, service is poor (almost no one speaks English) and the rooms are very noisy. I could hear people watching TV in the next room the whole night or people taking shower and flushing toilet. Rooms and bathrooms are old. Bed is super uncomfortable. No available parking. The only plus is its location.
