We stayed 2 nights in one of the annex rooms which had direct access to the lawns, perfect for our dog. All of the staff were brilliant: cheery, helpful and generous. The breakfast buffet had everything we wanted, the views were great and the atmosphere was very relaxing. There is a regular bus service into Belluno, but we never used it as it's only a 30 minute walk. The finish wasn't perfect but the hotel had character and history. For the price, we happily give Villa Carpenada 5 stars!
Excellent view of mountains and very relaxing space
Please make sure to check in advance if a wedding will be taking place during your stay! I was unpleasantly surprised during my visit, as all single rooms face the outdoor area. The staff was unable to provide me with an alternative room or reimburse me for the cost of staying at another hotel. It's unfortunate to have to spend one of the few vacation days with so much frustration. I strongly advise the hotel management either not to rent out rooms to external guests during events or to inform them beforehand. Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience at an otherwise beautiful location.
