Staying at Park Hyatt Guangzhou was an absolute delight! From the moment I arrived, the exceptional staff made me feel truly welcomed with their warm hospitality and attention to detail. The spacious rooms are beautifully designed, offering a perfect blend of modern elegance and comfort. Waking up to the breathtaking view of Canton Tower and the city skyline was an unforgettable experience. One of the highlights was the superb breakfast—a fantastic selection of many Chinese dishes, all freshly prepared and beautifully presented. I especially enjoy dim sum The sky-high setting of the hotel adds to its charm, making every moment feel special, not to mention swimming in the infinity pool on the 63rd floor.
Park Hyatt GZ is beautifully designed with very spacious rooms and a great location. However, the service is lacking for a hotel of this tier. I booked a Hyatt Prive rate and received a confirmed in advance upgrade, which was nice. The river view room was beautiful, and the aesthetic of the hotel, from the lobby, to the rooms, to the rooftop bar, is excellent and tasteful. Service though doesn't feel like a true luxury hotel and is lacking compared to competing brands such as Ritz Carlton, Kempinski, or Six Senses. There just didn't seem to be much staff around to help. For example, when checking out it took them over 20 minutes to send a porter to grab my luggage. The front desk was staffed by 1 person at check out. At the rooftop bar and the breakfast the service was slow and inconsistent, with items forgotten. Staff generally don't proactively greet you. I will say the breakfast spread is excellent though, with good amount of tasty ala-carte items and a delicious buffet. There was some debris in the room which hadn't been vacuumed and the headboard of the bed was quite dusty. All in all, I didn't really mind, but it doesn't feel truly luxurious which I'd expect from this brand. It feels more like a Grand Hyatt.
I'm a guest during my visits to the Canton Fair, and I've seen how it has deteriorated over time and hasn't been repaired. The breakfast has also declined in quality. The entire interior is dirty and smells musty. It's no longer the hotel it was a few years ago.
