We stayed at the Park Hyatt in D.C. during our anniversary trip. From the moment we arrived, the valet team warmly welcomed us, promptly assisting with our luggage and offering water—a thoughtful touch after our travels. The staff graciously acknowledged our celebration, surprising us with champagne and dessert, making our stay feel even more special. Our room featured a stunning stone bathtub and shower combo, transforming simple relaxation into a luxurious experience. The hotel's cleanliness and elegant atmosphere contributed to an unforgettable getaway. A highlight of our stay was the adjacent Blue Duck Tavern; the breakfast and dinner menus perfectly complemented the hotel's sophisticated ambiance. Every detail reflected impeccable hospitality, and I would highly recommend the Park Hyatt for anyone celebrating a special occasion.
Really nice hotel with great value in Georgetown area. Husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and made a reservation under Amex Fine Hotel Resorts. To our surprise, they gave us an upgrade to a suite during the Valentine/President’s Day weekend when the hotel was at capacity. We truly appreciated it! We used the $100 FHR credit at Blue Duck Tavern, the Michelin recognized restaurant on the first floor, which was a great deal. Breakfast was included as well. The hotel itself felt luxury, from the provision of bath salt to Le Labo bath products to the turndown service that happened precisely while we were out to dinner. The quality truly represents the Park Hyatt brand. I would have left 5 stars except for a couple minor mishaps. After we checked in, a staff member knocked on the door and gave us a plate of cookie without any explanation. I assumed it’s the hotel’s gift to us but a card or an explanation would have made a huge difference. The iron in the room broke and sprayed water all over my husband’s nice shirt that he was gonna weat to our dinner out. The water drain in the bathtub was malfunction as well.
My experience at the Park Hyatt Washington DC had many highlights, but also some significant disappointments. Positives: From the moment I arrived, the greeter at the door was always welcoming and friendly, setting a warm tone for my stay. The front desk staff were incredibly sweet and helpful, going out of their way to assist with my needs. The restaurant was absolutely amazing—delicious food, a talented chef, and attentive waitstaff made dinner a truly memorable experience. Additionally, the hotel pool was fun and a great way to relax during my stay. Overall, I would rate the hotel staff and restaurant a perfect 10/10. Negatives: Unfortunately, my room was plagued with issues. It had a horrible odor—smelling like a pipe problem, possibly involving a dead rat or sewage. I requested a room move, but I faced a tough choice: stay close to my family but endure the smell, or move farther away on the 10th floor. I chose to stay near my family and endured the smell for three nights, which was quite unpleasant. The room also had visible damage, with tearing walls and a spider found in the bed—likely from the windows being kept open. The bathroom lacked proper ventilation, despite the ceiling vent being visible, leading to foggy conditions after showers that made doing makeup difficult. The iron dripped water onto my clothes, adding to the frustration. It was truly disappointing for a supposed 5-star hotel, especially since I booked this place for my family, and I felt embarrassed by the condition of the room. The front desk did provide a discount, which I appreciated, but I don't think I should have had to pay anything given the circumstances. Positives (again): Despite these issues, the hotel staff's kindness and the quality of the restaurant made my overall experience somewhat redeemable. The pool and amenities offered a fun and relaxing break, and I appreciate the efforts of the staff to make my stay as pleasant as possible. Summary: While the service and dining at the Park Hyatt Washington DC were exceptional, the condition of my room was unacceptable for a hotel of this caliber. I hope they address these maintenance issues to truly match their reputation.
