Park Lane Inn

It is great value for money though the interior is a bit dated. It is so well located making it accessible to most of the attractions, such as the National Theatre and the Taichung train station within 30-minute bus rides. There are lots of restaurants and cafes nearby including the Sunny pineapple cake shop. Don’t listen to any comments about the draw-up of not having a metro station in the neighborhood. The Taichung metro has only a handful of stations. People travel by buses, not by metro!!!

Park Lane Inn in Taichung is strategically located in the heart of the shopping belt, making it an ideal base for visitors to explore the city. While there's no MRT or train nearby, buses and taxis are readily available and affordable. Upon arrival, note that the hotel shares an entrance with another property. Although the Inn's exterior and rooms appear dated, with furnishings reminiscent of the 80s, they are clean and well-maintained. Our suite featured a spacious living area, dining space, and open bedroom with two queen-size beds. The fully marble bathroom was a nice touch. However, the room lacked modern amenities, including USB charging outlets and a coffee Espresso machine. Instead, it offered basic 3-in-1 coffee, Chinese and mocha tea. A microwave oven was provided, though. One drawback was the room's lack of soundproofing, allowing noise from adjacent rooms and showers to be heard. The suite's panoramic view of Taichung's cityscape was breathtaking, making up for the hotel's dated features. Overall, Park Lane Inn is a great option for families seeking a convenient, affordable stay. Rating: 4/5 Recommended for families, budget-conscious travelers, and those prioritizing location.

Pros: very good location. Service is fine. Cons: very old facilities and old design. very firm bed. room smells like an old grandma's room, very humid and moldy smell. not sure if it's from the curtain and carpet. Bathroom is rather tiny but just old as. overall, way worse than a 2 star hotel in Bangkok.
