Good airport hotel, free parking, easy access by car. I don't like non-carpet floors, they make it look cold. Windows can't be opened. Fridge didn't work. Received a welcoming bag as a Premium Rewards guest. Appreciated.
Airline booked us this hotel after a cancelation. The staff at the shuttle and front desk were very welcoming and kind, patient, nice, and very accommodating! This goes for the evening and morning staff. 5 star hotels should learn from them how to treat a guest! (The rooms were not that pleasant.)
I don't know what to say. We didn't have bad experience per se, but the hotel feels to be a bit forgotten by management. While the lobby is quite pretty it goes downwards from there on. The staff is friendly, but carries a strong 'I can't be bothered' vibe. Like every questions seems to be a big burden being dropped on them. I don't know if something's happend to make the staff unhappy during our stay, because I saw this attitude displayed in front of other guests as well. I don't blame the staff directly, because when this is so wide spread it's usually a management problem. The next problem is the state of the hotel itself. It... Is... So... Worn... Down. You can't turn anywhere not seeing something broken. Loose handles, holes in the wall, broken furniture, stains everywhere. Really everywhere. I never experienced a 4 star hotel this worn down and badly maintained. The bed itself was comfortable and clean. Also our bathroom was very nice and the water pressure in the shower is good. The rooms are layout somewhat weirdly, its great that they have hooks on the walls to hang stuff. But in our room, for example, you couldn't open the shower door anymore when you put your towel on the hook in the bath. The breakfast was mediocre and the quality of the food underwhelming. Everything tasted like it has been sitting there for quite some time. The 'fresh' fruit was mushy and tasted like it was cut a few days ago. The pancakes were dry as were most other food items. Nothing was particulary bad or spoiled. Just not very good or fresh. I wouldn't recommend paying for breakfast. If it's included in your room there no harm in having it. I couldn't shake the feeling that the management doesn't really care about the property. It does make them money and somehow works, so they don't see the need to maintain the hotel or care for the staff or guests. It's a little sad to see this hotel which could be a very good 4 star hotel being run down to a weak 2-3 star experience. I hope they find their way back to their own aspirations. Until then I'd feel dishonest in giving anything more than 3 stars. Sorry.
