We enjoyed staying at this hotel, it was rustic and cozy with some unique natural features typical of this Chilean area. The hotel has a restaurant on site with a decent breakfast offering. We ate dinner there one night and it was OK. This area of Chile is a bit remote so there is nothing walkable from the hotel. The hotel is also down a steep dirt road. Everyone working at the hotel was very kind and friendly and accommodated my request for a second floor room since the hotel was not very busy. Although like most places in Chile having some Spanish knowledge is necessary. We enjoyed the hot tub, but unfortunately the sauna was closed for maintenance.
Great location for a quiet getaway but not too far from Castor. There is an onsite walking trail down to the shore.
Summary: Room was great, really nice and spacious. Food was really average and ruined our Christmas Day.. Service was fine, only one member of the staff (who showed us our room) made much effort with us. Went to this hotel as part of our honeymoon over Christmas.. menu was very limited, had very little choice of options because most of them were unavailable. Had two evening meals there, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Christmas Eve was passable, but Christmas Day had further reduced options.. I had gnocchi and it felt like tinned gnocchi with tomato soup and stale / dried out cheese which didn’t melt and was chewy. My wife had chicken breast and potatoes which was about as interesting as it sounds (not really anything else to choose - she wanted vegetarian pasta but they didn’t have it), and a salad which consisted of some palm hearts and half an avocado.. we wished we’d eaten somewhere else but on Christmas Day there were no other options. On the 26th we went to Tierra (luxury 5* hotel visible from the breakfast room) and had a fantastic three course meal for only 30,000pesos more. Wish we’d eaten there every night.. I don’t know where we went wrong here. Management weren’t to be seen over the Christmas period, so no one to discuss this with in person.
