This is a fantastic resort. The room was excellent and super comfy, the pool is huge, and the breakfast was plentiful. Absolutely loved it. It was a perfect retreat from Bangkok and Phitsanulok is a lovely city. There are not many tourists, some great little bars, and excellent food. When I checked out, I booked to come back.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is surrounded by lots of trees and greenery, which makes the whole place feel very relaxing and peaceful. Everything was clean and well taken care of, and the atmosphere was just so refreshing. Perfect spot if you’re looking to unwind and recharge.
The Pattara Resort looks great at first glance – the grounds are beautifully maintained, the pool is lovely, and the restaurant is actually very good with friendly and attentive staff. Most of the team were polite and tried to help. Unfortunately, all of this cannot make up for the unacceptable condition of the rooms. We had to change rooms twice due to serious mold problems. The first room smelled overwhelmingly of mold upon entry. The second was only marginally better – until we pulled back the bedding and discovered that both the mattress and duvet were moldy. When we raised this with reception, the issue was initially denied. Staff claimed they “couldn’t smell anything” and offered us air freshener as a solution – which is absolutely inappropriate given the health risks involved. Only after we insisted, cited similar reviews, and explained our daughter’s allergy did they finally offer another room. The third room did not have a strong mold smell, but the mattress and topper were still in a filthy, stained, and unhygienic condition. It was revolting (see pictures). We didn’t feel comfortable or safe sleeping there and were counting down the hours until check-out. For a resort that charges premium rates, this is simply unacceptable. Cleanliness and basic hygiene are non-negotiable – especially when dealing with mold, which poses real health risks. A beautiful garden does not make up for neglect behind closed doors. We will not be returning and cannot recommend this resort to anyone who values cleanliness or health safety.
