😊 What an amazing and comfortable place — peaceful, tranquil, and just what we needed for a proper break. If you’re planning a holiday in Marrakesh and want to avoid the noise and chaos of the city, this hotel is a perfect retreat. We stayed in one of the suites, and it was spotless, spacious, and beautifully designed. It had everything we needed and more — the kind of place that instantly makes you feel relaxed. Tarik was an incredible host. Nothing was too much trouble, and he looked after us from the moment we arrived. Proper five-star treatment the whole way through. One tip: book local restaurants in advance. The ones nearby don’t tend to accommodate walk-ins, even when they’re half-empty. Honestly, if you’re heading to Marrakesh and want somewhere calm, classy, and welcoming — this is it.
The setting and room aesthetics at Le Pavillon du Golf - Palmeraie in Marrakech are beautiful — but unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. Our experience was riddled with disorganisation, poor communication, and disappointing service, none of which aligns with what you’d expect from a “5-star” resort. We had written confirmation of early check-in but had to wait four hours to get into our room after a long flight. The hotel is under construction, so key facilities like the spa and fitness centre were completely unavailable. You have to go to another nearby hotel (Pickalbatos) to use a gym — not what you expect from a supposedly luxury resort. The WiFi was unreliable and the in-room phone didn’t work until we requested a replacement. We had to leave our room multiple times to follow up on simple requests like getting an ironing board or fresh towels. Stray cats are everywhere — scavenging at breakfast, outside your room door, and even trying to sneak inside. It’s not just unpleasant; it’s unhygienic. The staff lacked initiative. Requests took hours. We were charged for items like water and tea at checkout without any notice throughout the stay — something as basic as water should be offered freely in the heat, especially at this price point. No poolside food or drink service, noisy rooms (not soundproof), daily issues with deactivated room key cards, and confusion due to the language barrier made for a very tiring experience. Worse still, our laundry was taken by the hotel against our instructions, causing issues with the laundry company we had hired. In the end, we were billed for services we didn’t know were chargeable, and many of our concerns were met with indifference. We visited Pickalbatos Hôtel Du Golf nearby and were genuinely disappointed we hadn’t booked there instead. Much better organised and truly felt like a premium experience. Would not recommend unless serious improvements are made.
The scenery and views from the room, the pool area, and the overall aesthetic of the hotel were truly beautiful – it had a lovely, authentic Moroccan feel. Unfortunately, almost everything else about our stay was disappointing. There was a significant language barrier with staff, and although we had confirmed early check-in when booking, we ended up waiting nearly four hours for our room. The hotel only offers breakfast – there is no on-site restaurant for lunch or dinner. Thankfully, there are two restaurants within a 5-minute walk, but I’d recommend making a reservation in advance, as nearby hotels also rely on them and they get busy. The hotel is conveniently located just 15–20 minutes from the center of Marrakech, which was ideal for getting around. However, we experienced ongoing issues with the room key card not working and had to keep returning to reception to get it reactivated. No complimentary water bottles were provided during room cleaning – they were available but for an extra charge. Service by the pool was non-existent. Over the course of a week, only twice did someone come out to ask if we needed anything. Basic customer service was severely lacking. Half of the hotel appeared to still be under construction, which was not mentioned beforehand. Wi-Fi didn’t work at the pool and was unreliable in the room. The TV also didn’t function unless you logged into your own Netflix, Amazon Prime, or YouTube accounts. There were a few positives: we forgot plug adapters, and a kind receptionist arranged for someone to bring us some. Also, our laundry was done free of charge – though this was a misunderstanding due to the language barrier, as we had arranged it through a third-party company and the hotel ended up handling it. Overall, while the look and location of the hotel were great, the service and amenities did not live up to expectations. 2.5* at the most.
