Peace Hotel Beijing

Location is superb as it is located right at Exit B of Chongwenmen metro station. There is a popular bakery just beside the hotel & across the street there are eateries & shopping malls. Usual amenities such as toiletries, slippers, hairdryer were all provided. Room is spacious although the design is rather dated (the orange light doesn’t help). Breakfast was nothing to shout about gets repetitive after a couple of days. One thing I need to point out for those who are staying during winter. The hotel’s layout has some rooms facing outward into the streets while others are inward facing (overlooking the interior dining area). During my stay in December 2024, I stayed in an inward facing room & the room’s air conditioning was only supplying warm/hot air & there was no way to toggle to cool air. The room was too warm & stuffy, and I ended up requesting for a fan to get by, as changing to an outward facing room would require a top up of 70 yuan per night.

Good location but we sweltered in the heat with no air-conditioning. Despite the fact the front desk was meant to have some English..no one was very helpful.at all and us westerners were not made.to feel welcome...wanted to move hotels bit we sucked it up but would not recommend.

old 4 star hotel with updated fancy lobby and kind staff, but the rooms are 20+ years old and it used to be allowed to smoke in the rooms, some smells old smoke and of old moist wood. However location is very good but if possible it's better to pick some other more modern hotel. If your a smoker and you smoke in the room, expect 800 yuan fine. But then at least you will feel at home and probably don't mind the smell. At the time of writing in June/July 2025 it had good AC that helps but honestly that is not the main problem.
