Pelican Reef Villas Resort

I recently spent five days in Ambergris Caye with my best friend, and our stay at Pelican Reef Villas was fantastic. Initially, we considered booking closer to San Pedro for the beach experience, but we were delighted with our choice. Pelican Reef Villas, with its wooden edge and swim-off dock, exceeded our expectations in every way. Unlike the beaches near San Pedro, which are plagued by sargassum, unpleasant odors, and insects, Pelican Reef Villas was free from these nuisances thanks to its built-up retention wall that diverted the current and kept the resort pristine. The water at the end of the dock was crystal clear, perfect for swimming, and provided stunning views. The hotel itself surpassed all our expectations. The furniture in our room was of exceptional quality, the beds were incredibly comfortable, and the amenities were top-notch. Each morning, I relished the cook-to-order breakfast, trying something new every day. The intimate, local feel of the place was enhanced by the genuinely kind staff. On our last night in San Pedro, we met a staff member from the hotel who generously sent over a round of drinks and took the time to chat about our stay. This gesture truly went above and beyond, reflecting the high level of hospitality we experienced throughout our visit. I cannot wait to return!

The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. It is very quiet and well located. It was my sister's birthday and they surprised us with birthday decorations in our room. We loved our stay and we highly recommend it!

Saragassum Nightmare: not the fault of the hotel they have been hit with sargassum but it was horrible. Smelled like raw sewage everywhere outside. Could not swim off dock as promoted due to dirty/gross water. Nice staff. They are Great at booking excursions to sea which is the only place to truly get away from it. So happy to be leaving!
