I had the pleasure of photographing a wedding at Tenuta San Pietro in September 2022 and absolutely loved the location. This venue ticks every box from a wedding photographer’s perspective. It’s a truly unique venue nestled within the Tuscan hills. The outdoor options are great visually but you also have a covered terrace should you need it. Tenuta San Pietro would be a great wedding venue for International & UK couples to get a real taste of Tuscany. Photos by @photography_34 on instagram
Our stay at Tenuta San Pietro was superb from start to finish. Even prior to our arrival, communication with the staff via email was simple and our inquiries were addressed in a timely manner. Once there, we were treated like royalty by the invaluable Elisa -- an absolute treasure of a human being and a phenomenal person to assist in all facets of our stay. From setting up transportation, to checking in with us daily regarding meals, to overseeing all accommodations in the lead up to our trip, Elisa is among the best in the hospitality industry, hands down. Our mother uses a wheelchair and we wanted to be sure she would be okay to access the hotel and get around the property okay -- Elisa went so far as to record videos of the entire property and all the entryways and send those videos to me personally via Whatsapp so I could see for myself what obstacles we may face. While the property itself is stunning and our meals were a delight, Elisa was the true star of our stay. As for the rooms themselves -- they are on the smaller side, but this is to be expected because the property is very old. The showers are also very tiny. That aside, the overall hotel is in great condition and the views from the property are nothing short of breathtaking. I'd recommend this place to any traveler and am already dreaming of a return visit. Some items to be aware of (and of course check with hotel staff to be sure I'm getting this info correct or to see if things have changed since our stay in June 2024): - The hotel has an elevator -- it is very small, but comes in very handy for heavy luggage and our mom, who uses a wheelchair, used the elevator to get from floor to floor with no problem - Meals were available each day but we had to work with hotel staff to see what was available and when -- it does not offer a fully functioning restaurant -- rather, staff would tell us each day what food was available and then we'd create a menu based on what they had on hand. This was no trouble -- our meals were spectacular and very well priced -- just something to be aware of in advance. I believe breakfast may be covered with price of the room but I cannot recall, so be sure to ask about this. Breakfast was incredible -- very substantial -- you place your order in advance with the front desk (usually the day before) and then you can add to it once you're seated to eat if you decide you want additional items. - Transportation to Lucca, the town below in the valley, took about 20-30 minutes by car. Elisa set up transportation for us to and from -- it was simple, affordable, and the drivers were lovely. They picked us up at the hotel, we roamed about town for several hours, and then they picked us back up in Lucca and drove us back to the hotel. - The pool is gorgeous and the views from the hotel/pool are simply stunning. - The vineyard close by, Tenuta di Valgiano, is worth a visit. It can be reached on foot from the hotel -- approximately a 10-15 minute walk. One final shoutout to Elisa who is the best of the best!!! We cannot thank her enough for making our stay nothing short of exceptional.
My wife and I had a wonderful stay here during our honeymoon. The house was so cool - centuries old covent turned into farmhouse, completely modernized on the inside with all the ammenities you could ask for. Stepping out into the back area during the early morning amongst olive trees, grapevines, and the roosters crowing peering along the horizon seeing all of the farmland, vineyards, and cypress trees in the distance was breathtaking. Inside, the service at this agroturissmo was unmatched. Every morning Bertina would check in with us to ask what we had planned for the day and give us excellent recommendations for sites to see, places to eat etc. And the food here... wow. We ate some of the best meals of our entire trip here at Tenuta San Pietro including the best Cacio e pepe I've ever had in my life. Their local wines, and their use of local fresh ingredients (like their olive oil, pecorino, fresh made pici,) made for an unforgettable dining experience. We highly recommend this spot if you're planning a trip though Tuscany
