The Pentahotel Reading offers a stylish, modern stay with standout comfort in the bedrooms. Guests consistently praise the rooms for being spacious and well-designed, with large, soft beds that make for a relaxing night’s sleep. While a few rooms show minor signs of wear, overall comfort remains high, and the urban-chic aesthetic adds to the appeal. One of the hotel’s strongest features is the vibrant bar and lounge area. It’s a welcoming space with huge soft couches, a well-stocked bar, and a laid-back atmosphere that encourages guests to unwind. The pool table and other games add a playful touch, making it more than just a place to grab a drink—it's a central social hub of the hotel. While drinks can be a bit pricey, the friendly bar staff and relaxed vibe help balance that out. The location is another plus, with the hotel situated close to Reading town centre, making it easy to explore local shops, restaurants, and transport links. Though there’s no on-site parking or in-room fridge, the hotel works with nearby parking facilities and offers helpful service at the front desk. Overall, Pentahotel Reading delivers a fun and comfortable experience, ideal for casual travelers or weekend stays. It blends stylish accommodation with social spaces that invite you to linger, lounge, and enjoy.
Just spent one night in this hotel and wish we had booked longer. The hotel has a great look and feel about it, when inside you expect to walk out to a beautiful beach somewhere abroad. The room was clean and bed was super comfortable. The breakfast had a great selection, I only had the cooked breakfast and it was great. Lovely coffee too. Staff were super friendly and helpful. The only small downsides were the key cards kept failing, we were told not to keep them near our phones. The shower only had half a screen so had to be careful not to flood the bathroom. Will definitely be staying again if I’m ever in the area.
Overall, a decent experience for my stay at this property. The hotel lobby area is a good place to gather, unwind and have a couple of drinks. There are dart boards, pool table, table tennis and another game which I do not know what it is. There is bar and dine area as well. Good for meals and chit chat. Simple breakfast spread but good enough for me. Taste wise just normal nothing fantastic. The cushioned chairs need to be cleaned as it is often littered with sugar, crumbs or food. The room I had was bad. A/C not working. Windows cannot be opened. Just imagine how I endure for 4 nights in middle of July. The shower screen is half covered so need to be careful not to splash water and leak to the carpet in the room. The GYM is located at a weird corner with no A/C. Looks more like a jail cell. Staff are friendly for the most part. They seem to play multiple roles from bar tender to receptionist to server.
