Lovely location with a pub on your doorstep. We pulled up to the site cabin and had to ring Janine, (lovely lady) came and booked us in. Several pitches to choose from grass, hard standing and ehu if needed. Toilet and shower block very clean and warm. Lovely big shower cubicles, utility for washing up and chemical waste. Nice and quiet in the evenings. Paid £25 p/n. Stayed for two nights, so relaxing. Highly recommend.
Lovely small and quiet camp place with fab shower block and toilet facilities. Right next to an award winning pub. Small zoo just 10 mins walk left from exiting camp behind another pub. Would recommend and will return. Janine the host was lovely too.
We did a last minute booking for Easter at £30 per night which is comparable to a CL site. What we liked.... The warden was welcoming, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Burger van and pub (food finalist) on site. Great burgers we didn't try pub food but heard it was outstanding. Good location for walks, hiking, cycling and visiting local venues Popular with Tenters and Campers less so for motorhomes. Those that like fire pits can have them outside on thier pitch. Showers and toilets reasonable temperature and cleanliness. Some pitches available with EHU, drinking water and good size pitches. Booking in process was swift and well organised. What I feel needs improvement. Only 1 sink to wash up and no plug available. (luckily we brought our own) Not all showers were working in the men's. Floors not anti slip in showers/sink area. Extremely slippy when wet. Sensor in washroom needs repair/ adjusting to bring lights on slightly earlier as a bit hard to see early evening. TV reception is poor, make sure you have data to use Netflix etc in the evening or books to read etc. From our prospective what we felt let the site down. It sadly, was a bit of a free for all, if there are rules in place then they are there to be broken. Several dogs off their leads running up to people and other dogs on leads causing unnecessary and excessive barking. Child using a remote control car on tarmac area in front of other people's pitches with their sheep dog in tow off lead chasing the toy car and barking whilst doing so. Various groups that were staying on site were partying playing loud music that could be heard over your TV and when trying to sleep. This went on until approx. 11.30pm everynight. Whilst we understand people are on holiday and want to enjoy themselves consideration of others would be nice. I couldn't contact the warden on the number I had to alert her to our concerns. We were in bed and message wouldnt send. This site has a lots of potential, and is really popular with younger families and couples. But if you are used to sites with enforced rules and no noise after 10pm then this isn't the site for you. If you like real camping, like to party have fire pits and don't mind dogs barking or running about off lead then this will be a great site for you.
