Cannot rate Peppermint Ridge highly enough, it's a gorgeous place to stay and the whole experience just felt so warm and inviting. I do wonder what it would be like to stay in on those rare hot Tassie summer days, but it was perfectly comfortable when we were there. Loved our two nights here and would definitely return next time we're down that way.

We had a two day stay in the Berry Patch unit and really enjoyed this place. It had everything we needed and more, except maybe tissues. They even had freshly baked bread already made for us in the bread maker. There was wine to purchase if you forgot yours and a few other items for purchase, including soft drinks and some tourist memorabilia. We loved the wood heater and the spa bath and also enjoyed watching the DVDs. The natural drop toilet was a novelty, and it did not smell. Overall, the place felt clean and green. We did have one frightening moment when we both sat on the same side of the picnic table on the deck, and it went to tip up. We were also wary of negotiating the internal stair case up to the loft bedroom as it felt steep to us. Though there was a second bedroom downstairs, also with a queen bed, so we did have the choice to avoid the staircase. The fabulous views and the peaceful ambience, along with the resident chooks, all added to the country appeal. Thank you, we will be back!

Extremely disappointed. A top 50 rated home in Tasmania is simply inaccurate! Our rating would not make it in the top 1000. Listed as luxury but is basic accommodation. A 30+ year old property that has not had much upgrading and upkeep. Very basic facilities including kitchen, DROP toilet, no wifi, NO air conditioning, only a fan and an electric bar heater. Phone coverage was poor. No cable TV, very small TV (there is not much to do at night!!). We didn't use the internal wood burning fire as we both suffer from hay fever. The house smelt of smoke when we arrived. Ordinary surroundings to the house, although the distant views to the ocean channel and the valley were pretty. Other challenges when visiting include - local café and restaurant are closed from Sunday evening to Wednesday morning for the café and until Thursday morning for the restaurant.
