Beautifully converted historical building with spacious well appointed rooms and kitchenette. The property has a wonderful veranda upstairs to watch the world go by. Great selection of French teas and a few complimentary treats. Beautiful robes and slippers too. We had a lovely home base during our recent stay. Staff were friendly and helpful at every interaction. Great spot
#1 hotel in town, and lives up to the reputation! Perfectly priced for a luxury weekend away. Nice, cozy room, very comfy bed and pillows. The bath amenities and robe are a very nice touch! We appreciated the easy late self/checkin and the super quiet stay. Great mini bar selection, and thank you for not over-charging on in-room wine like the big chains always do. Was a great local Merlot to enjoy sitting on the veranda with new friends and watching a fantastic storm roll by.
1 star experience for the price of a 4 star. The worst part first. We put some supplies on the kitchen cabinet under the sink to find them a day later eaten by a mice (see photos). Unfortunately we only found that after the reception was closed. We threw all the supplies away. We put a heavy weight over the cabinet door to see if that would prevent the mice to from coming into the room. But from that point on, sleeping in the room was tricky. When we complained about it with the person at the reception, this was his answer: "We are very proud of our pest control, but we cannot control animals". Who gets "proud" of pest control? That answer suggests me that they have had this problem before. Even if "proud" was a thing, how one can be proud of something that is clearly not working. I never thought in my life I would stay in a rat infested hotel. I would imagine this would/could happen at side of the road super cheap hotel. This was an expensive one. The bed was 2 bed put together which is very common and not a problem in general. But the middle of the bed was super elevated where division of the 2 beds is, making is uncomfortable. We were only left with a small side of the bed. The pillows were too high and hard. I asked if they had another option, but they gave me another of the same. I ended up using a cushion from the couch. The room was spacious and that is the only good part.
