Great hotel near to downtown Funchal. The staff and facilities were great. The pools and the ability swim in the sea from the hotel helped make our stay really memorable. We took full advantage of the pub next door and the handy variety of nearby restaurants. It's a 15 minute walk into downtown Funchal.
Beautiful hotel in an incredible location. Pools are fabulous and direct, private access to the ocean is rare in Funchal! We enjoyed the buffet breakfast every morning. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The spa was wonderful - we both got massages that were so relaxing. Bars by the pool was so convenient and prices weren’t too outrageous for a 5-star hotel. I’d stay here again for sure!
The location of the hotel is spectacular, but what has stood out the most to me has been the exceptional service. I wish I could remember all the names of the staff we have encountered, but I have to commend Marlene Spinola for extraordinary friendliness, hard work and cleaning our messy room with a smile. I would hire her in a heartbeat. Thank you for taking such good care of us. Very much appreciated.
