Petit Palace President Castellana

The good.: -The room was well laid out and the use of space was excellent. Big windows let in plenty of light and well designed curtains help to make it dark for sleeping. Having a full length mirror and shelves for clothes was much appreciated. -Everything appeared clean and all the basic necessities were there. -The bathroom was comfortable and well laid out. The shower water pressure was strong. -The sheets and the bed were adequate. - The air conditioning worked well and we were able to adjust it as needed. -The staff was pleasant and helpful . -The location is excellent with an easy walk to food, shopping and transportation. The not so good: -The hotel is in desperate need of a major refresh. The lobby feels shopworn and a bit sad. The hallway area on our floor looked shabby and well used. Many surfaces were worn and scratched in our room. -The translucent division wall between the bathroom and bedroom had a large crack. -Sink/Vanity area were just inexpensive formica boards covering the plumbing. -The wall mounted towel hangers and the hand shower fastenings were loose and wobbled on the wall. -The towels were flat and not very luxurious. - Some of the light switches didn't seem to do anything. The bedside lights didn't work at all. Overall this hotel did a lot of things right. Unfortunately everything felt a bit tired and shopworn. Investing in a thorough refresh would go a long way towards making this hotel feel more welcoming. My biggest issue is that the quality of the lodging doesn't justify the price.

Unfortunately nothing to do with 4-star-hotel. The location was great, the stuff was polite and the breakfast was the only thing resembling this rating. The rooms are a mess, after I witnessed what is shown on the pics below, I asked if I can change room. When I checked the alternative the room condition was equally bad - the rooms are in dire need of maintenance/renovation. There are obviously fake/bot reviews below trying to keep the ratings up…

This place is not a 4 star hotel as advertised - its at best a 2 star - I would compare it to Holiday Inn Express - which is fine if that's what you are expecting but if you are expecting anything above that I would stay far away. Rooms are not very clean - dirt stains all over the room and bugs can be found in cracks of wall, uncomfortable pillows and mattress, AC does not work well, staff is not helpful. We ended up switching hotels after one night. Only redeeming quality is location.
