Phakalane Golf Estate Hotel Resort

I has previously booked via booking.com and when I arrived I was informed that because I booked on that platform the view from my room would have been the parking lot and in future if I ever want to book I should book online on their website which i did do in this case and even chose the one with the higher price on their website yo be given the same room with the view of the parking... after letting staff know that I booked on their website and expected an room with a view because that's what I was told previously, I am then told I should rather call and book... at this point I am confused because how can they not know the dealings of their own website and its offerings and then tell people that there is a problem with the website and to rather call them. I don't come from Botswana so now I have to make an international call before coming in order to get a room with a view??? A staff member claims they did ask the manager if our room can be changed and the manager refused and even refused to reduce the price that day. Only on the day we were checking out did the manager come and apologise and discounted our rate... Also service at restaurant is very slow 🐌 The hotel is beautiful, they just need to update their pool area.

This hotel is overpriced and overrated without providing the basics. There was no water to drink in the rooms. After hours of travelling, we couldn't bath because there was no hot water. They claimed that there was maintenance done during the day however they never bothered telling us upon arrival. This would have afforded us the opportunity to look for alternative accommodation. The DSTV package does not even have a golf channel, in the meantime it's a golf estate with golf course. The 19th hole should be branded as a pub because the service equates to a shebeen. You are ignored upon arrival, you have to chase waiters for service, which is ridiculous. This really dampened our long awaited golf trip :-(. As I'm writing this, there is still no hot water they have suggested that they bring us an urn. Imagine leaving your comfortable home and country to pay an arm and a leg to use an urn to bath with no expected time of resolution. There's a so called chiller that chills nothing, we alerted them and nothing was done except providing us with an ice bucket. This is no 4 star hotel by any measure or standard.

The hotel itself is ok. But very kids unfriendly and it is very very noisy during the night - so many barking dogs that we couldn’t sleep for hours - and the worse nobody cares. Not recommended at all if you want to sleep in peace
