Philea Mines Beach Resort

Highly recommended. The staff are so friendly. The view is amazing. Very responsibility. The rooms are so wide. The TV is suitable. Room service is amazing. Breakfast lunch perfect. It deserves 5 stars from me.

1) It's an aged resort with a good natural view but a disappointing room. The hotel boasts a stunning outlook. However, the room is quite lackluster. 2) The room's quality doesn't match the hotel's impressive exterior, the bath rub is moldy, the floors are sandy, no slippers provided. 3) The resort provides a sand pool. However, it's not very clean. It was floating with debris. 4) It's not peak when we checked in @ 3.30pm, and it's just the usual occupancy as per seen. AND YET our room was delayed. And we received our WRONG room. I booked lake view, and received “No View”. Apparently the resort was experiencing some challenges with staffing 5) Some staff members lack expertise in handling the reception desk. We bumped into 2 ladies in the earlier shift WITHOUT name tags. They didn't seem friendly and professional when they were handling customers. The lady with tudung even came out with "Allah....." those kinds of blaming sentences when I rushed for my room as it was over 3.30pm when I asked for the room. I'm not sure if she's blaming her job or me though. 6) Breakfast session was ok, but we observed that the staff members were adequately trained. After the customers left their desks, they didn't wipe the table and just took away the plates until the next batch get their seats on that uncleaned table.

We stayed at the deluxe room for 1 night. The room was okay, except that the sliding door lock was not working, which created a safety and security concern, as the balcony could be accessed by occupants in the next rooms (both left and right). However, regarding the berbuka package (Selera Warisan), I would not recommend it and please spend your money wisely. Why? 1. There was a variety of food to choose from, but most of it was tasteless and bland. That could be acceptable considering the price (RM328 for a deluxe room, berbuka, and sahur package). 2. We went for sahur this morning and I suspected that the main dishes were from last night's berbuka. I felt terribly disappointed because I had arranged this short stay with my husband to celebrate our anniversary, and we were served leftover food for sahur. Why couldn't they just prepare new hot food, like a simple nasi lemak? Oh yes, and the dishes were served cold. At first, I suspected this, but I overheard a group at the table next to us saying the same thing, that the food was from last night’s berbuka event. (This is the main reason I am giving this place 1 star) Overall, I am happy with the room condition, but the way the package was promoted; with the room, berbuka, and sahur included, while serving overnight food was really disappointing. Please consider raising the price and serve something decent for your customers to EAT. Oh. And we would not consider this hotel again although the room is equipped with bathtub. Look at the pool, the water seem don’t differ from the lake water.
